To get a job, you need experience.

Just remember, the biggest enemy for everyone in the job market is lack of experience, so no matter how much you polish up your fancy resume, you need to apply for jobs that you already have experience doing. Most importantly, don’t give up!

My first programming job was at eBay, and I got it without a single day of prior experience as a software engineer. I’ve been applying like crazy for over a year now and still nothing.

2. Everyone else started their career this way. I can't do computer programming because we only needed to take C++ but that was over 2 years ago that I took it. Of you want to study at work, I had a job at a security alarm company. Anyway, I wonder if it's possible to become self taught in programming and land a job in a year.

You sit around all shift waiting for a home owners alarm to go off, then call and ask for their code word to verify it was a false alarm. I havn´t any degree or studies, only the mandatories here in my country. Maybe you just want some extra help, such as java programming help or maybe you’re preparing your children for a career in programming, and want to get them enrolled in kids programming classes.

Then, use the experience and credentials you’ll eventually gain to step up to a position with a better salary.
