The NWI maps contain information on the location and characteristics of wetlands and deepwater habitats. The wetland classification codes are a series of letter and number codes that have been developed to adapt the national wetland classification system to map form. As part of the Indiana Wetland Program Plan Development, a tool was developed for identifying and mapping high priority wetlands conservation sites (HPWCS).
